He doesn’t arrive all at once
no thunder, no clean break in the sky
He shows up in fragments
in quiet decisions no one sees
in the space between “I messed up”
and “I’m still here”

Some days he walks taller
like he remembers something sacred about himself
Like confidence isn’t borrowed
but built
bone by bone
choice by choice

Other days, he folds inward
questions echoing louder than truth
Am I enough?
Was I ever?
Or did I just learn how to pretend well enough
that no one noticed the cracks?

He carries both versions
the one who believes
and the one who doubts
like two lungs learning how to breathe together

There’s a weight he doesn’t talk about much
the pressure to be okay
To smile in a way that convinces others
and maybe himself
that nothing is unraveling underneath

Because the world doesn’t pause
for a man mid-rebuild
It nods, it moves, it expects
Be steady. Be good. Be fine.

And so he tries.
God, he tries.

He swallows storms with practiced grace
turns chaos into quiet nods
learns how to say “I’m alright”
with just enough truth in it
to not feel like a lie

But beneath that
there’s history.

Long roads walked in silence
Mistakes that still echo when it’s too quiet
Moments he wishes he could fold in half
and tuck away somewhere unreachable

And still
he kept going.

Through nights that stretched longer than they should
through versions of himself
he barely recognized
through the kind of pain
that doesn’t leave bruises
just questions

And here’s the part
he can’t quite settle

That pushing through
might mean something
or it might just be survival
dressed up as strength

He doesn’t know
if that makes him worthy of love
or just… practiced at enduring

The man who comes next
is not a stranger.

He is this one
just quieter in his fear
steadier in his steps
and still unsure
what any of it adds up to

He doesn’t have answers
He still hesitates
Still wonders
Still feels the pull of who he was
and the weight of what he’s done

He moves forward anyway
not because he believes
but because standing still
feels worse

And maybe that’s all this is,
for now

a man in motion
carrying doubt
like it belongs to him

trying to become something
he’s not convinced
he deserves to be
