Plenty of people are smart.
They speak in polished thoughts,
quote the right names,
and carry confidence like a shield.
But common sense?
That’s born in the mud
in the long nights, tight budgets,
gut punches life throws
when no one’s watching.
It’s shaped by struggle,
and softened by the kind of empathy
you can’t fake.
If you’ve never had to stretch a dollar
or swallow your pride just to survive
if you look down on the fallen
instead of sitting with them
you might be smart…
but you’re missing something deeper.
Because common sense isn’t common.
It’s earned.
And it always walks with humility.
